About the Redwood City San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce

Throughout the year, the Business and Government Relations Committee and Board of Directors take positions on various local, state and federal measures such as: Supported San Mateo County Community College District Bond Measure H, Measure M - Increasing Redwood City Business License Tax and Measure I - Increasing Redwood City Transient Occupancy Tax by 2%, both Measure H and I passed. Also supported California Assembly Member Rich Gordon’s AB 481 Petitions: Signature Gatherers and AB 1105 – Express Lanes: Highway 101 Opposed AB 52 (Feuer) – Health Care Coverage: Rate Approval, also opposed the elimination of Redevelopment Agencies. Approved Expanded Express Bus Service on Dumbarton Bridge. Approved Chamber Comments on New California High Speed Rail Business Plan..

Redwood City, Belmont, San Carlos Leadership Program
Learn how The Redwood City San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce is helping to educate local leaders with the Redwood City, Belmont, San Carlos Leadership program.

The mission of the Redwood City, San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce is to promote economic prosperity for our community through business representation and advocacy with emphasis on information,communication and education.
Chamber Committees
Transportation & Housing Committee - Monitors and evaluates transportation system and housing issues. (2nd Thursday, at Noon)
Governmental Relations Committee - Studies and speaks out on all government activities that affect local business. (3rd Wednesday, at Noon)
Education Committee - Working in conjunction with local educational institutions to determine ways in which business can participate to improve community schools. (1st Wednesday, at Noon)
Economic Development Committee - Develops and implements plans to attract and retain commercial and industrial development in Redwood City and San Mateo County. (1st Tuesday, at Noon)
Ambassadors Committee - Serves as a liaison to the Chamber's membership. Attends networking mixers, ribbon cuttings and grand openings. (1st Monday, at Noon)
