The Redwood City School District aims to be a premier California School. The District serves nearly 9,000 elementary and middle school students at 17 schools in the Redwood City, San Carlos, Atherton and Menlo Park. The City is located in the Bay Area 25 miles south of San Francisco and 25 miles north of San Jose. Redwood City is home to approximately 76,000 people. It is the oldest bayside city in San Mateo County, incorporated in 1867, and has been the County Seat since 1856.
