Chairman's April Message
Your
Chamber continues to grow! In March, we completed our annual
membership drive with the addition of 158 new members. The
drive ended with a gala mixer at Pacific Athletic Club where
the top producing volunteers and teams were recognized. Tracy
DeLeuw from DPR was the top producing individual and the Dirty
Dozen team brought home the trophy as top team. Many thanks
to all of the volunteers who participated and to this year's
co-chairs, Dani Gasparini, Rosanne Foust and Janine McCaffery.
It is the active participation from a thriving membership
that makes our Chamber so effective and productive. The opportunity
to network and build business relationships is greatly enhanced
by growing our membership. Please welcome our new members
by using their services and buying their products.
On April 2 - 4, the Chamber will host our Annual Progress
Seminar which brings together business and government leaders
to address important issues facing San Mateo County. I am
pleased to report that State Controller, Steve Westly, will
join us as keynote speaker on Saturday. Mr. Westly is a successful
business person and he is taking a strong leadership role
in Sacramento. Focused breakout sessions on California Competitiveness,
Measure A, Business Ethics, Local Government Funding and Biotech
in the Bay Area. The seminar is already a sell out so I hope
you all have made your reservations to this important event.
Also right around the corner is the Chamber's annual golf
tournament with returning title sponsor, Wells Fargo. The
event will be on May 10th at Stanford University Golf Course.
We are sure the event will sell out again this year so please
sign up now to ensure a spot on the famous Stanford course.
Proceeds from the tournament will once again benefit Kainos
Home and Training Center. The Chamber's support of this event
is critical to funding the good work that Andy and his team
do at Kainos. Please come out to join in the fun and benefit
a good cause at the same time.
