Infrastructure Bond Measures Head To The November Ballot
REDWOOD CITY, CA - June 2006 At their June Meeting
the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce Board
of Directors accepted the Economic Development Strategy Task
Force
recommendations on the following:
Economic Development Element of the General Plan:
PROVIDES THE VISION FOR REDWOOD CITY
Recommend that the Chamber endorse the draft of the proposed
Economic Development Element of the General Plan, with the
proviso that the final draft be updated to reflect current
and contemporary statistics.
Economic Development Assessment:
PROVIDES THE FOUNDATION FOR WHERE THE CITY IS IN TERMS OF
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
Recommend that the Chamber Board accept and endorse the final
draft of the Economic Development Assessment.
Economic Development Strategic Plan
PROVIDES THE STRATEGIES AND PATHWAYS TO ACHIEVE THE VISION
Recommend that the Chamber Board accept and endorse the final
draft of the Economic Development
Strategic Plan.
The Board of Directors also voted to support in concept San
Mateo County's 10-year program to prevent and end homelessness
in San Mateo County HOPE (Housing Our People Effectively).
HOPE was initiated in April, 2005 by bringing together approximately
150 representatives from all segments of the community with
a mandate to create this plan to end homelessness.
