Angeles Named Person Of The Year...
Cheryl
Angeles, Regional Manager, with Saf Keep Storage, was named
the Chamber’s Person of the Year by outgoing Chamber
Chairman of the Board Rosanne Foust. The presentation was
made at the Chamber’s 106th Annual Dinner, January 29,
2004 at the Hotel Sofitel.
This Award, called the Chairman of the Board’s Award,
is the Chamber’s highest. Created in 1970, its purpose
is to recognize the one person who more than anyone else made
the greatest impact on the success of the Chairman’s
year.
Angeles has served on the Chamber Board of Directors for 10
years serving as a Vice Chair for three years. In 2003 Cheryl
was co-Chair of the Chamber’s Ambassadors Committee
and credited for re-energizing the committee into the most
active in the Chamber. In addition she has been a captain
for the Chamber’s infamous Membership Drives for the
last four years.
Angeles, a 1993 graduate herself of Leadership Redwood City/Belmont/San
Carlos, has put more of her employees through the program
than most any other company. For the past 8 years there has
been a Saf Keep Storage employee in the program. Angeles,
recipient of the Athena Business Woman of the Year Award in
1995, is now an active committee member for the Wells Fargo
Golf Tournament benefiting Kainos Home and Training Center
and the Chamber’s Invitational Golf Tournament.
In making the presentation, Foust said, “The Chamber
is lucky to have someone like Cheryl who firmly believes in
the organization and is willing to put her time and company
resources into Chamber programs. Cheryl and Saf Keep Storage
are great partners to have in the business community.”
