SHOP • SHOP • SHOP CHAMBER!

The Chamber has always promoted the idea of Chamber Members doing business with other Chamber members. When people call the Chamber office looking for a product or service – we only recommend members. We have a display case in the Chamber lobby promoting our members, we have maps and directories listing our members, and there is a member directory on our website – again promoting our Chamber members.

But, this year our Chamber Chairman of the Board, Cheryl Angeles, is taking this idea of member to member business to another level. At the Chamber's Annual Dinner in January Angeles acceptance speech included her encouraging those present, as she held up a Redwood City Community Guide swinging it in her outreached arm, "look to other Chamber members when you are looking for someone with whom to do business."

Angeles’ program "Shop Chamber" was launched that night. Business cards have been printed for any member who wants to use them. When you go to a member business, leave the card which states "We came here because you are a member of the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. Thank you for your support." WOW. Members will soon be receiving decals to display, which will identify them as members of the Redwood City- San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce. WOW.

This is a great effort to encourage Chamber members to spend their dollars with other Chamber members and to let you know that we appreciate your support of the Chamber and our Program of Work.

So, keep your eyes out for these "SHOP CHAMBER" cards, and even better stop by the office the next time you are going to use another Chamber member and drop one off yourself.
