Chamber Presents $28,400 to Kainos
REDWOOD CITY, CA - August 6, 2003 A $28,400 check was
presented to the Kainos Home & Training Center for Adults with
developmental disabilities. The proceeds come as a result of the
success of the Wells Fargo-Rathman Benefit Golf Tournament held
in May, which is sponsored by the Redwood City-San Mateo County
Chamber of Commerce.
This check represents the largest one time donation that Kainos
receives the entire year. Although the Chamber of Commerce benefits
equally, it is very unusual that one non-profit would contribute
such a large amount to another. Chairman of the Board Rosanne Foust,
in presenting the check said, “We are proud of the relationship
that we have with Kainos. It’s a great cause and one that
we as the Chamber really believe in and feel motivated to help as
much as we can.”
Kainos Executive Director, Andy Frisch in accepting the check on
behalf of Kainos thanked the Chamber and the golf committee profusely.
He said that the contribution means so much to Kainos in enableling
them to continue to do the work they do to help adults with developmental
disabilities become contributing members of the community. Frisch
particularly expressed his appreciation to John Adams, Northern
California Area Manager and Wells Fargo for their Title Sponsorship
of the tournament.
The $28,400 check was presented at the Chamber’s Executive
Committee meeting at the end of July.
