Chamber Presents $34,000 To Kainos - Largest Amount Ever!
REDWOOD CITY, CA - August 31, 2006 A $34,000 check
was presented to Redwood City based
Kainos Home & Training Center for Adults with developmental
disabilities. The proceeds come as a result of the success
of the 2006 Wells Fargo Benefit Golf Tournament held in May,
which is sponsored by the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber
of Commerce.
This check represents the largest one time donation that
Kainos receives the entire year. Although the Chamber of Commerce
benefits equally, it is very unusual that one non-profit would
contribute such a large amount to another. Tournament Co-Chair
and Past Chamber Chairman of the Board John Adams, in presenting
the check said, "We are proud of the relationship that
we have with Kainos. It's a great cause and one that we as
the Chamber really believe in and feel motivated to help as
much as we can."
Kainos Executive Director, Andy Frisch in accepting the check
on behalf of Kainos thanked the Chamber and the golf committee
profusely. He said that the contribution means so much to
Kainos in enabling them to continue to do the work they do
to help adults with developmental disabilities become
contributing members of the community. Frisch particularly
expressed his appreciation to John Adams, Executive Vice President,
Northern Division Area Manager and Wells Fargo for their Title
Sponsorship of the tournament and all the Tournaments Corporate
Underwriters.
The $34,000 check was presented at the Chamber's Invitational
Golf Committee Meeting held in August.
