Athena Award To Change
After 17 years the Chamber's Athena Business Woman of the Year Award, which
will continue to be co-sponsored by Mid Peninsula Bank, will take on a
different look and make a local charity the benefactor.
The award will now be called the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of
Commerce Business Woman of the Year Award. The criteria for those nominated
will basically remain the same a woman who: provides invaluable business
acumen to the local community for the purpose of stimulating and enhancing
the quality of life Demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in
their business or profession Assists other women of all races, ethnicities
and economic backgrounds to reach their professional potential within the
business community and An active and supportive participant and member in
the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce.
What is different is that this year the recipient of the BWYA will receive
$1000 from Mid Peninsula Bank which will be donated to the local charity of
her choice. Mid Peninsula Bank continues to be a great partner in the
business community in helping to not only recognize deserving woman, but
this year, help a local charity meet their financial goals.
The Award will be presented at the Chamber's Annual Recognition Dinner on
Thursday, January 25 at the Hotel Sofitel.
