A Message From Chairman Of The Board, Barry Jolette
REDWOOD CITY, CA - December 22, 2005 Wow! With the leadership of Mike Giari, outgoing Chairman of the Board, your Chamber has just completed another terrific year, working to make our area a better place to live and work. And now I consider it an honor and privilege to serve as the Chair of your Chamber for 2006.
Looking to the year ahead, we will be once again holding the always very popular Progress Seminar April 7-9, 2006 in Monterey. And then in June it will be the Progress Seminar remixed. And in between on May 8th will be the Wells Fargo Benefit Golf Tournament. Six times throughout the year, join your friends at "Good Morning Redwood City" to hear what is happening in our area. And don't miss the evening mixers for fun and the opportunity to meet other active Chamber members.
A major project for the year is to develop a draft Economic Development Strategy for presentation to the City Council. And join us for the Economic Forecast Breakfast next fall. And the Transportation and Housing Committee will be working to encourage delivery of Southern County Measure A projects such as the Woodside Road/Highway 101 Interchange.
It's clearly going to be another exciting and productive year for your chamber. So start the year by joining us for the Annual Awards and Recognition Banquet January 26th at the Hotel Sofitel. And why not join the fun for the rest of the year. Call the Chamber and join one of our committees or working groups. Once again this year we have some great community minded leaders serving as Department Vice Chairs: Jeff Gee (Swinerton Management & Consulting) Economic Development Dept.; Jim Hartnett (Hartnett & Smith Associates); Business-Government Relations Dept.; Cheryl Angeles (SKS Management)
Member Services and Funding – and our Chamber Chair-Elect; Glenna Vaskelis (Sequoia Hospital) Community Development.
Please come and be an active part in our efforts to improve the quality of life and business opportunities for all of Redwood City and San Mateo County.
