About Glenna Vaskelis

Glenna Vaskelis is the President and CEO at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City.  She has been in that role since 1996 when Sequoia Hospital became part of Catholic Healthcare West

Glenna served as Chairman on the Board of the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce in 2009.  She previously served four years as the Chamber’s Vice Chair of Community Development.  She is on the Board of the Hospital Consortium of San Mateo County and chair-elect of the California Hospital Patient Safety Organization.

Ms. Vaskelis has been honored as one of the Most Influential Business Women in the Bay Area in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 by the San Francisco Business Times and as one of the Most Influential Women in Healthcare in 2004 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal.  She was also honored by the Redwood City-San Mateo County Chamber of Commerce as the 2006 Business Woman of the Year.  In 2007, she received the David D. Bohannon Memorial Award for Excellence from the San Mateo County Economic Development Association (SAMCEDA).

Ms. Vaskelis is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Certificate in Managerial Accounting.  She worked for Arthur Young & Company prior to going into the healthcare profession.  She received a BS Degree in Accounting and Management from the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1978.

Ms. Vaskelis and her husband, Frank, reside in Half Moon Bay.  They have one daughter and two grandchildren and one great-grandchild and her hobbies include travel and golf.
