The Golden Apple Award

Chamber’s Award Recipients was recognized at its Annual Dinner, January 31
Whole Foods - Redwood City and Paul Dazey from City Pub, 2013 Golden Apple Award Recipients

Recognizing the contribution of business to education, two Golden Apples were awarded for 2013 to Paul Dazey of City Pub, and Whole Foods - Redwood City, for their commitment to local education.

The Golden Apple recognizes people in the business community who strive to make a difference in city schools. This year's recipients, City Pub and Whole Foods - Redwood City, exemplify what great partnerships with the business community can accomplish.

16 years ago the Chamber made education one of its major priorities. An Education Committee was formed and set about to create a program where business could make a significant difference.

Part of that program is to recognize what business does for the educational community and thereby encourage other business-school relationships. The Chamber of Commerce established the Golden Apple Award to recognize the large and small business members of the Chamber of Commerce who have made significant contributions to support education in our community.
