Bob Lutticken and Facebook, 2014 Golden Apple Award Recipients

Bob Lutticken

Since 1981 Lutticken’s Deli has been serving the Peninsula with quality food services. With locations in Menlo Park, Palo Alto and on the Stanford Hospital campus, owner Bob Lutticken has given back to his community at every possible opportunity.

Bob and the Lutticken’s team often sponsor youth sports teams and provide monetary and in-kind donations to local schools and organizations. The Lutticken’s team also participates with various schools and the “Serve the Peninsula” organization in activities that provide lunches to youth programs. In doing so, Lutticken’s donates his team’s employee services, product and time.

Lutticken’s is proud to have opened a new restaurant in Redwood City called Main & Elm at the former Main Street Coffee Shop location. Bob and his team look forward to continuing on with their “community” involvement and extending their generosity to his new Redwood City School neighbors.

Facebook was nominated by Redwood City School Board Trustee, Dennis McBride, for their continued support of Redwood City Schools. In June 2014 Facebook hosted twenty Kennedy Middle School students to celebrate their being the 20 highest achieving students over the past 3 years. In November 2014 they hosted 35 Redwood City students to attend the facebook worldwide web conference. The students were honored to be 35 of only 300 participants on facebook's campus for that event. In 2014 they also donated $100,000 to purchase computer devices for Hoover, Fair Oaks and Taft Schools.

Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg and his wife Priscilla Chan have committed $1M from their Education Foundation to Redwood City School District and $1M to Ravenswood School District.
